Natralogic – Natural Maternity Skincare
Natralogic are locally made skincare products specially formulated for use during pregnancy as they are free of toxins and ingredients that are considered harmful to your little one and contain only the highest quality Certified Organic and Natural ingredients.
I’ve learned in my ‘old’ age, that it’s so important to be kind and easy on yourself and to really take care of your body during this very exciting but overwhelming time in your life. Your body is going through so many changes so it’s extremely important to give it as much love as possible. Taking care of your skin and really putting effort into feeding it from the outside in is a good way to start. In general there is not much you can take when you’re pregnant, from medication, supplements and skincare products. You really have to be so careful and sometimes this can be quite overwhelming. I was constantly checking the back of every box to see the ingredients list or contacting my gynaecologist to find out if it was safe to take. It was super daunting trying to find products that were safe to use during pregnancy and unfortunately, there isn’t a lot on the market that meets these standards.
So when I found out about this local skincare brand, Natralogic, who produced all natural organic products that catered for us mama’s and mama’s-to-be I was super excited to try them out. They have such a variety of products too, from nipple creams and massage oils to tummy creams and leg gels. I got to try out the full range and felt spoilt from head to toe. It’s just having the peace of mind that you know nothing will harm and have a negative effect on the baby. With my skin being highly sensitive due to all the hormones, I loved the fact that all their products were suitable for sensitive skin.
The fragrance is very botanical, if I could describe it like that. Almost as if they’ve taken a handful of freshly grown herbs and popped it into a bottle. It’s light, sweet and citrusy, without being overpowering.
Being pregnant for the first time has got to be one of the most exciting, but also most overwhelming times of your life. So many emotions, so many hormones, so many changes, both physically and mentally, it’s quite a rollercoaster to put it politely. I didn’t sail through my first trimester and suffered badly from hyperemesis gravidarum, (chronic nausea and vomiting), so much so that with my second pregnancy I was hospitalised and put on a drip for dehydration.
So with all these changes in your body, it makes it even more important to look after yourself and your skin (being the biggest organ in your body) can’t be ignored. If you’re suffering with heavy puffy legs and feet, then the Cooling Leg Gel is the perfect way to relieve the discomfort. Struggling with cracked sensitive nipples? Then you must try their Nipple Cream, which I use now as a preventative measure. My favourite is their Toning Massage Oil, which I pop on every evening after I shower. The oil is light but nourishing and I just love the scent.
