Choc-nut banana blend

Our favourite smoothie this summer has got to be our very own homemade Choc-nut banana blend. Sugar, wheat and gluten free it’s the perfect protein-packed breakfast for when you’re on the go!

Recipe below:

  • 1 x Banana (bigger is always better)
  • 2 x Dates (our fav: Natures Choice, pitted whole dates)
  • 1 tsp. Cacao Powder (our fav: Superfoods Raw Organic Cacao Powder)
  • 10-14 gm. Nuts
  • 1 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • 4 x Ice cubes
  • 1tsp Chia seeds (cause everybody’s doing it)
  • *2 tbs. Double thick Bulgarian yogurt
  • *Dash of milk

Most of the above ingredients can be found at Wellness Warehouse  and some items can also be found at Spar, nationwide.

* If you want to trim the fat, for a healthier option substitute peanuts/cashews for almonds)

* The Bulgarian yogurt and milk is optional, but if dairy doesn’t agree with you, exclude these ingredients from the mix and your shake will still be deliciously creamy thanks to the banana!
