Our Best Boxing Spots In Cape Town
Since our boxing orientation with Virgin Active last year, we’ve been addicted to the endurance, core power and extreme exhaustion this sport has to offer. Having experienced personal coaching with the mean, ultra lean Enver Pockpas and being thrown out of our comforts and pushed to our limits at Mojo Boxing we were itching to find more Cape Town boxing studios to put to the test.
Check out our favourite boxing spots listed below:
If you keen to train like the pros, this boxing hub is definitely the spot – whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience, they offer group classes and personal training sessions in boxing and Muay Thai.
Matthew Leisching, MADfit co-founder and boxing trainer has definitely made his mark in the ring. Training some of the best boxers SA has ever seen, including the world champion MMA fighter, Don “Magic Man” Madge, who happens to be his MADfit business partner! Matt is incredibly meticulous with form and technique and if you’re wanting to improve on your punches and foot work – he’s your man! If you’re fortunate enough to get a session with Don Madge, you’ll be reliving the pain for days to follow, his high intensity classes are mean, but he’ll get you into that wedding dress ladies!

These okes aren’t the new kids on the block; they have an established rep for their specialised boxing training classes. This gym prides itself on being the best in the business, with hardcore trainers that know what they’re doing! We got a training session with Chris Landman (a qualified Exercise Specialist and Nutritionist), who may not seem that scary at first, but when he gets you into that ring, you are punching so hard your chest feels like its going to explode! This gym is the real deal – they are there to get you fit and boxing like a boytchie.
They train all levels with the aim of developing a unique character and a sense of community that is built around a shared interest in serious boxing-related training. Membership allows full use of the club facilities during opening hours and unlimited fitness and boxing classes.
