Food Safari

Meet Stefan and Nina, a beautiful Swiss couple with a profound love for filmmaking, travel, food, health and wellbeing! On their recent visit to Cape Town they spent their days filming every meal, restaurant and scenic view in sight, with one objective – to open your eyes to a whole new world of food and its culinary offerings. The story is simple; good food, fine wine, beautiful landscapes, a passionate filmmaker and one smokin’ hot food lover who set out to discover the Cape’s finest cuisines. 75 film clips of food and countless beautiful images later and ‘Food Safari’ was born. A charming montage of all things fabulously foodie and a beautiful take on two food lovers on a journey to find pure palate perfection.

This film has inspired us to explore this insanely beautiful city we live in, take advantage of our surroundings and most of all… get eating!

Behind the lens: This project was filmed and edited by the very talented Stefan Ruegg and supported by the project 222 of Kuoni Reisen Switzerland. Stefan, who completed a film course at the New York Film Academy, in Los Angeles in 2012, spent many years traveling abroad and gaining valuable experience, fulfilling his passion for creating art through filmmaking:

In front of the lens: Stefan’s gorgeous girlfriend Nina, who discovered her love for good food, wholesome cooking and travel at an early age, was the brain behind the ‘Food Safari’ concept, making Cape Town her first choice as the perfect location.

Beautifully made video. Please could you tell me something about Kuoni Reisen’s Project 2’22” – I’m struggling to find out on their site whether this video was sponsored by the company, or whether it is a user-generated video that has been submitted to the company.

Either way, though, it’s a super piece of work, and I hope Cape Town is as grateful as it should be for it.

    Thanks – M
