Clarins #WorthTheWrinkle

WITC and Clarins reunite once more to celebrate Women’s Month one wrinkle at a time! Clarins have launched a new Multi-Active day and night cream, which is the perfect skin care duo to suit women in their thirties with an on-the-go lifestyle.

The #WorthTheWrinkle campaign aims to change the perception about beauty and aging and encourages women to embrace and not shy away from challenges and experiences that make their lives richer and more fulfilled. We have earned these wrinkles ladies, by living life to the fullest, taking risks and making the most of every situation – that’s just what us women do! In our opinion, every month is Women’s month, so what’s this business about only getting spoilt once a year!?

Clarins3

We’re celebrating those notable ‘wrinkle moments’ in our lives, whether it’s that deep frown line from the stress of work deadlines or those laugh lines when you’re having a good giggle with friends…

Our experience:

It’s as if Clarins knew we were heading for the dirty thirties when our Multi-Active Day and Night creams arrived. They say prevention is better than cure, so that’s why we didn’t waste any time when asked to try out their new anti-aging product range.

Nicole has super sensitive skin, but because of the soothing effects of the plant-based extracts, there were no signs of irritation or redness. The Multi-Active Night cream contains new Golden poppy extract (we had to google this one), which revitalises and protects the skin to reduce signs of lack of sleep – perfect for all the yummy mummies out there! Marisa loved the texture of the night cream, not too oily or thick, but still very hydrating and easily absorbent. Sometimes we find that night creams can be a little too rich for our early ageing skins and teenage spots are not a good look either! We found the day cream equally as good – with a soft texture and light fragrance that was perfect to wear under make up, with no greasy residue.

#WorthTheWrinkle moments:

  • When your kids are driving you mad, but those morning cuddles make it all worthwhile
  • When work consumes you and deadlines are taking its toll, but you win that account and celebrate with a glass or even better, bottle of bubbles
  • When you think you can’t possibly do one more sit-up, but you push through so that you can rock that teenie weenie bikini in summer
  • When your car tyre bursts in the middle of nowhere, but a hunky guy stops to help you

Clarins4

Multi-Active Day:
New Multi-Active Day cream helps prevent and visibly correct the appearance of fine lines thanks to new Myrothamnus extract. The new extract minimises the impact of daily stress to help keep skin smooth and radiant.

Clarins1

Multi-Active Night:
Prevents and visibly corrects the appearance of fine lines. With technology powered by plant extracts these treatments visibly diminish the first signs of ageing, restore radiance, hydrate and maintain younger looking skin.

When I spend hours baking chocolate cupcakes for my students (and have every baking disaster strike – from running out of ingredients to having the mix bubble over the cupcake dish…) But then to see their absolute enjoyment and thanks!

When you stay up late constructing the perfect workouts for your clients, but you see them reaching their goals every dang week. Seeing women being empowered by their own strength because of some extra love put into a perfectly tailored workout program. Now that’s #WorthTheWrinkle

When you have to go to your son in bed over and over for something different each time he calls, sometimes it’s for milk, then water, then he needs to tell me something, then he can’t find the toy he is sleeping, or just wants to tell me something. The best is when you are called for a big hug and a big kiss. Repeats this on most nights. #WorthTheWrinkle

Trying to breastfeed your 8 week old while your 20 month old shows off his skills with his new set of golf clubs and appears rather intent on swiping you and baba over the head. Ducking and diving in an attempt to protect yourself and the newborn, but still trying to appear encouraging about your eldest’s ball skills. Absolutely #WorthTheWrinkles, especially when the plastic golf club is discarded and you and baba are suddenly showered with the best kisses! ?

This is for my mom, the most selfless person I’ve ever met, who has never put herself first to the point where she would rather spend money on making sure her family is fed and happy then looking after herself. She deserves to feel as beautiful as she is on the inside. We love and adore you Mom! #WorthTheWrinkle

When your Ridgeback furkids aren’t socialised so every time you take them for a walk you are a complete stress ball… until you get to an open field and let them off their leashes and they run around freely (like complete bafoons, might I add) with absolute pure joy. All of a sudden those stress wrinkles turn into smile wrinkles and they are all totally worth it! #WorthTheWrinkle

Spending a week in JHB for work, keeping up with traffic, hectic meetings scheduled throughout the day and evenings, and then taking five minutes out, to have a little pamper session at the Clarins Counter in Sandton City Mall. Felt completely rejuvenated, and very pleased with my new 18 hour foundation, exfoliating scrub, and serum.
